Its getting to be that time of year again. Join us on Saturday May 11 from 10 am to Noon for our annual Community Cleanup (Rain or Snow!).
This year will be slightly different from others. We will have meetup locations along Salter Street at the corner of Redwood, Mountain, Machray and Atlantic. This is where you can sign in, grab your supplies and gloves and head out from there.
As we don't have autobins any longer, we will also be using these corners along Salter Street as the drop off location for your collected garbage. Bring your bags back to Salter Street meet ups (same as above)! You can grab more bags and supplies so that you don't have to carry a lot of stuff with you while you are out and about.
Please come to the nearest corner to the area you want to clean. So, if you want to clean Machray Park, please go to Salter at Machray so that we can track where we need volunteers!
The second change is where our BBQ is afterwards. We will be headed to Luxton Community Centre at 210 St. Cross Street. This is where all our wonderful volunteers from our cleanup as well as Seven Oaks, Inkster and Luxton will be meeting up. We will be having food followed by prizes here.
Look forward to seeing all our neighbours out and having a great feast afterwards. Keep watch here for updates and any possible tweeks to plans as the event nears.
Any questions? Leave them in comments, send us an email at stjohnsra@gmail.com or check us out on Facebook or Twitter!

Its on: Community Clean-Up
Its that time again, Spring Cleanup! Come help make your Community beautiful. We are meeting at Ralph Brown Community Centre and starting our cleanup at 10 A.M.
At RBCC you will sign in, get a ticket for prizes and food, get the materials you need for cleaning (garbage bags, recycling bags, grabbers, gloves) and you will get to pick your street. Get there early if you have a street you want to clean :)
We will then be meeting back at Ralph Brown for Noon where we will have hot dogs, veggie dogs, fruit and drinks. We will also be drawing for prizes !
So come on out and meet your neighbours and clean up the area, literally. Check out our Facebook event to RSVP !
Any questions, leave them here, email us, facebook us, shoot us a tweet or give us a call at 927-2340.

Spring Cleanup
In one week a planning meeting will be held for a joint Spring Cleanup to be held! We are looking for your suggestions.
In years past we have included in our cleanup program:
- Collecting garbage and recycling and disposing of garbage and recycling recyclables
- Volunteers normally meet at Ralph Brown Community Centre and inform us of what streets they would like to clean
- Sign in sheet and equipment is handed out
- Once finished everyone meets back at Ralph Brown Community Centre and we have a BBQ with draws
Is there anything else you would like to see included in our Clean ups? This could include:
- Identifying properties with graffiti and providing a graffiti waiver to have it removed
- Note any issues in the Community like unsafe/unaccesible sidewalks, etc to be reported after the event
We would also like your input for anything related to the cleanup like dates, times, locations, etc!!
